(en.sonla.gov.vn) On the evening of June 13, 2025, at the Cultural - Cinema Center of Son La Province, the Peoples Committee of Son La Province coordinated with the Embassy of India in Vietnam to organize the opening ceremony of the Indian Film Festival in Son La Province.

Attending the opening ceremony, Ms. Monica Sharma, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center in Hanoi, the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Vietnam; leaders of several provincial departments and branches, along with many cadres, soldiers, students, and people in the province.

The festival will screen 04 famous Indian films on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of June. The 04 films are of many genres. Which “Roar of Freedom” is a fictional story about two revolutionaries during the colonial period in India. The film blends heroic action, epic, friendship, drama, and patriotism. “Live Only Once” (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) is about a transformative trip of a group of school friends after many years apart with discoveries about friendship, maturity, and how to enjoy life to the fullest. “English Vinglish” is a touching story about a housewife’s journey of self-discovery as she learns English and regains her confidence. “Dangal” is a drama about the journey of a father overcoming social norms to train his daughters to become world-class female wrestlers.
Many cadres, soldiers, students, and people in the province attended the opening ceremony of the Film Festival.
The activities at the Indian Film Festival in Son La aim to enhance cultural exchange between Vietnam and India and introduce and bring Indian cinema closer to the audience of Son La and Vietnam in general. It will be an opportunity for the public in Son La to enjoy famous Indian films and experience unique cultural values to foster a strong friendship and cultural connection between the two countries. Through the festival, the image, country, culture, and people of India will be introduced to cadres, civil servants, public employees, students, and people of all ethnic groups in the province while promoting the image and people of Son La to the Embassy of the Republic of India.
