In response to the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, and the circulation of counterfeit and substandard goods that have caused concern among the public, Son La province has implemented an inter-agency coordination plan. Forces from the Health Department, Market Management, Police, Agriculture, Taxation, and Culture sectors have jointly conducted inspections of production and business establishments to promptly detect and handle violations related to trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement across the province.

Inspection Team No. 02, led by MSc. Pharmacist Tran Trong Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Deputy Head of the delegation, conducted inspections of production, distribution, and business establishments in Phu Yen, Bac Yen districts and Son La city. The inspections focused on compliance with laws related to the prevention of the production and trade of counterfeit, substandard, and origin-unknown goods—particularly those directly affecting consumers' health—in line with Prime Minister's Official Telegram No. 65/CĐ-TTg dated May 15, 2025, and Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 including medicines, functional foods, milk, cosmetics, crop seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, livestock, poultry, and animal products. The team also checked for the use of growth stimulants in fruit products, and for excessive use of chemicals intended to increase weight or retain moisture after defrosting, which may lead to deceptive practices regarding product weight and quality.

Through this campaign, the inspection team also disseminated legal information and raised awareness among producers and businesses about their responsibility to join the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeiting, and intellectual property violations. These efforts aim to protect consumer rights, ensure a fair and healthy business environment, and promote sustainable economic development.
