(en.sonla.gov.vn) On May 26, 2025, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong, chaired a meeting of the task force for the peak campaign to combat, prevent, and push back smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property rights violations in Son La Province (Task Force 1181). The meeting was attended by members of the Task Force as stipulated in Decision No. 1181/QD-UBND dated May 22, 2025, issued by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

To effectively implement the directives outlined in Prime Minister’s urgent Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg dated May 15, 2025, launching a high-intensity campaign to combat and prevent smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property rights violations; and Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025, on strengthening efforts against smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods under the new circumstances, Task Force 1181 of the province has developed a high-intensity plan to combat smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property violations in Son La Province. Accordingly, the province will establish four inter-agency inspection teams to conduct intensive inspections against smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property rights violations in Son La Province from late May until June 15, 2025.

At the meeting, members of Task Force 1181 discussed and contributed their opinions on the operational regulations, the decision to establish inter-agency inspection teams, and the high-intensity plan to combat smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property rights violations in Son La Province. Delegates requested that the advisory agency develop a detailed inspection plan by area and locality to ensure effective inspection and control while avoiding overlap; assign specific tasks to each member sector of the Task Force to organize specialized inspection teams tailored to relevant fields based on the local situation; promote community involvement and public supervision by distributing reporting forms to encourage the public to report violations of smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringements; and strengthen monitoring of advertising and promotional activities for products.

In his remarks, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Cong requested the Department of Industry and Trade to consider the contributions, revise, and finalize the draft Operational Regulations and Plan before submitting them to the Provincial People’s Committee for approval and issuance. He urged departments and sectors to focus on their assigned tasks, proactively grasp the situation, and directly conduct inspections and surveys at several key border gates and areas with complex issues related to smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods; and to inspect major production and business establishments in districts, towns, and cities. Heads of the inspection teams are responsible for developing implementation plans and assigning specific tasks to team members. Upon completion of the inspections, the inter-agency inspection teams must submit their reports to the Department of Industry and Trade—the Standing Agency of Task Force 1181—for consolidation and reporting to the Provincial People’s Committee.
