Export ceremony of Thuan Chau Dragon Fruit to the Italian market for the 2024 season

(sonla.gov.vn) On June 21, 2024, Thuan Chau district organizes ceremony to export Thuan Chau Dragon Fruit to Italian market for 2024 season. Attending the ceremony were Mr.Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Leaders from various departments of the Province; Thuan Chau district People's Committee.
Delegates cut the ribbon for export of Thuan Chau dragon fruit products to the Italian market in the 2024 crop year.
"Red-fleshed Dragon Fruit introduced for cultivation in Thuan Chau District since 2010. By 2018, Thuan Chau district People's Committee collaborated with Ngoc Hoang Cooperative in Mai Son district to develop production chains linked with Dragon Fruit consumption. Presently, Thuan Chau district boasts 50 hectares of Dragon Fruit plantations, with 44 hectares integrated into production chains, primarily in Chieng Pha, Phong Lai, and Phong Lang communes. For the 2024 season, Thuan Chau district plans to harvest Dragon Fruit on 40 hectares, with an estimated yield of around 400 tons of fresh fruit."
Thuan Chau Dragon Fruit product ensured with care to meet export standards
Since the beginning of the year, farmers in Thuan Chau district have harvested approximately 50 tons of dragon fruit, exporting 7 tons of fresh fruit to the Italian market. This marks the district's second export of dragon fruit to Italy through collaboration with Ngoc Hoang Cooperative. The export of dragon fruit holds significant importance for the people of Thuan Chau district, expanding market opportunities and enhancing the economic value derived from dragon fruit cultivation

In the coming time, Thuan Chau district will focus on developing production along value chains, enhancing collaboration with units and enterprises to promote and boost the export of key agricultural products such as dragon fruit, lychee, mango, and various vegetables. This effort aims to elevate the value in agricultural production and improve the livelihoods of local residents.
